    I'm telling you right now. I thought I was a pdr professional after watching 5 videos and confidentially began tapping away at my rear quarter panel where it was assaulted by the trampoline in heavy wind. 8 months into this repair I have had that panel every shape imaginable.. as the more I stuffed it up, the npre videos I watched..each time learning something g I wish I had known before I touched i By some miracle of the Lord..because it wasn't due to skill..I have managed to get my double skinned wheel arch to almost perfect..if you squint. 99 percent of my issues were I actually did not know IT WAS DOUBKE SKINNED until a week ago..so nothing the videos instructed me to do were working quite as expected. It's been an incredible experience to be honest.. im talking at least an hour of every day for 8 months working on it..sometimes just staring at it..sometimes screaming at it with a metal hammer hitting it as hard as I can I EFFING HATE YOU. The latter happened at least 3 times, and the panel resembled a teenagers face with acne more than once. I now own a set of PDR tools, and once I began using them instead of anything progress was made. If I showed you how that panel was, around 3 cms smashed in right in middle of bodyline on thst arch, I think even you would be impressed at what I've achieved. The paint is knackered lol...from me..but the panel is straight. Commitment or stupidity I'm unsure which...lol..for any new people to PDR take it from me..I've wasted 8 months of my life on straightenening a panel that now requires painting anyway.. the irony..take it to the shop guys lol

    how much did you charge for a dent like this? i always find dents on the body line door the hardest.

    • @LearnPDROnline
      @LearnPDROnline 14 днів тому

      Yes bodylines are always tough and this damage spread across the entire panel. This particular repair was carried out for one of my neighbours so was just a few hundred pounds.

    Don't listen to rip #6. You do not want to ruin a good label for no reason. Try working on the damaged panel and keep it simple.

    • @LearnPDROnline
      @LearnPDROnline 17 днів тому

      Tip 6 is to practise on a flat clean area of the panel first, to get a feel for the pressure and tool tip location before trying to go straight to fixing dents with zero experience. Every student that has tried this has said it helps. Honestly in my experience its no good trying to fix dent damage with no previous experience it will likely leave you frustrated. Getting a feel for the tools and understanding what pressure is needed and how to identify the tool tip is so much easier when you learn this on a flat panel with no damage.

    • @masterreefer82
      @masterreefer82 17 днів тому

      @@LearnPDROnline I guess as long as they don't apply too much pressure it should be ok. I would be worried myself (as a newbie) to put a high spot on a perfect panel. A reflector light or label helps out great to identify low and high spots.

    • @LearnPDROnline
      @LearnPDROnline 17 днів тому

      @@masterreefer82Yes I am referring to working with a 'practice panel' ie a panel you can practice PDR on that is OK to make mistakes on, sorry if that wasn't clear, tip no 6 is to work on a undamaged part of a practice panel as opposed to trying to fix damage straight away. At no point do I recommend working on a real life car in any aspect until you have at least completed basic foundation skills. 👍🏻

    • @jwild5360
      @jwild5360 15 годин тому

      @@masterreefer82if your worried about making a high spot on a clean panel with no damage you shouldnt be sticking a tool behind a dent at all unless it’s a practice panel. If you can’t identify how hard to push without being worried of making a mistake it’s time to take 3 steps back.

    • @LearnPDROnline
      @LearnPDROnline 14 днів тому

      That sounds like the panel may have been painted before, the only time I have ever had that happen is on panels that have had filler and paintwork carried out, the original paint will not pull away with PDR assuming the correct glue is also used.

      I use glue specifically designed for PDR, if by normal glue you mean household hobby glue then no it is different PDR glue is designed to peel off easily where as the craft glue becomes brittle and hard to remove from the paintwork, I get mine from BLE tools here in the UK 👍

      Do you not find twisting the cold glue as you apply it gives a greater pull then? When I learned this tip myself, I was able to repair more damage with cold glue repairs by getting more adhesion with pulling. It massively helped me which is why I share my advice. Did you have the sound up on the video? Have you tried cold glue yourself?
